Part of Atlanta’s Midtown streetscape enhancements is the 5th Street Bridge, developed with the intention of creating a more pedestrian-friendly link to Georgia Tech’s main campus and Tech Square – "the multi-building complex that will be the new nexus of a thriving high-tech corridor" – across Interstate 75/85. The new bridge will offer wide sidewalks, planter walls, benches, trees, brick pavers and decorative lighting.
Atlanta‘s 5th Street Bridge construction began on September 21, 2004, and it is expected to be completed in Fall 2006.
