Construction has begun on the Target store in Atlantic Station announced back in October 2005. The 150,000 square-foot store is scheduled to open in March 2007, and will feature a ground-floor parking lot, escalator and cart escalator – feature already seen in the Buckhead Target (across from Phipps Mall). The "contemporary" and "trend-setting" Target will boast a unique and modern architectural design. The Target at Atlantic Station will also incorporate a Starbucks coffee shop – feature that it is not big news by now; other recently built Target stores already have a Starbucks coffee shop inside.
