3630 Peachtree will be the newest addition to Buckhead’s skyline. This two tower development has recently been given the green light from the City of Atlanta. The third and last zoning authorization was approved by the City on December 2nd. 3630 Peachtree will join 3344 Peachtree as Atlanta’s first vertical mixed-use buildings, with office, retail and residential sections, all under the same roof.
3630 Peachtree will be located at the intersection of Peachtree and Peachtree-Dunwoody roads, east of Wieuca Road Baptist Church. Pope and Land Enterprises plans to build 2 towers that will combine office, retail, and condominiums. The tallest tower is supposed to rise 40 stories high; it will have 425,000 square feet of office space on 19 floors with 150 condo units that will be developed by Post Properties. The second tower is said to be 30 stories high, and contain up to 249 condo units; it will be developed by Novare Group which will not be allowed to use glass and concrete exteriors, but will have to use brick façade and other materials that are common in the surrounding neighborhoods. Pope and Land Enterprises is in the process of applying for building permits with a scheduled construction date of mid-2006.
